    City of Little Rock says that Ward 2 director Ken Richardson recovering after ‘life-threatening’ surgeries

    LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – Officials with the City of Little Rock said that Ken Richardson, City Director for Ward 2 has recently undergone multiple life-threatening surgeries and is on the road to recovery.

    Over the last few months, officials said that the absence of Richardson from the city Board of Directors’ regularly scheduled meetings had raised questions among the constituents of Ward 2 and the city at large.

    After speaking with Richardson’s family, Mayor Frank Scott Jr. said that over the past few months, Richardson has undergone multiple life-threatening surgeries and is currently still hospitalized. He must clear significant hurdles in his recovery before he can return to his duties and continue serving the city he loves.

    “I have not abandoned you. I look forward to resuming the work I have previously done and completing the projects we started together,” Richardson said in a statement to the constituents of Ward 2.

    Though Richardson is hospitalized currently, he is on the long road to a full recovery and his family expresses their gratitude and thankfulness for how far he has come and asks that the community keep him in their prayers and respect their privacy during this challenging time.
