DENVER (KDVR) — Police in Littleton shot and killed a man on Monday evening.

The Littleton Police Department said officers responded around 5:47 p.m. to the area of West Kettle Avenue and South Datura Circle on “a possible suicide in progress.” Responding officers “were confronted by” a man in his 50s with a weapon, according to police, “who exited his home and approached responding officers.”

Police said the officer-involved shooting “occurred and the male was transported to a local hospital” by South Metro Fire Rescue and later died.
