Earthquake Shakes Illinois: Shocking Footage Inside (Video)
A 3.4 magnitude earthquake struck Northern Illinois early this morning. The earthquake occurred a little before 3 a.m. in Southern DeKalb County, near the town of Somonauk. The earthquake was felt in various locations including Winthrop Harbor, Cary, and Yorkville. Heather and Cory were awakened by the quake, initially mistaking it for a storm. Marcia in Winthrop Harbor reported feeling her house shake. A resident in Cary noticed the loud and rumbly noise, distinguishing it from thunder. Dan in Yorkville also felt the earthquake.
Litchfield Fire Department Responds To Vehicle/Building Crash
The Litchfield Fire Department responded to a vehicle that struck a building Sunday evening. According to Fire Chief, Adam Pennock, the fire department responded to Jubelt’s Bakery and Restaurant. Upon arrival, the fire department found a four-door white Dodge pickup truck, that had struck the southwest corner of the building. The occupant was out of the vehicle before EMS responded and was evaluated and transported to a nearby hospital for further treatment.

Lawmakers say two recently passed bills save motorists time, enhance convenience
(The Center Square) – The Illinois legislature voted to provide motorists an option at the DMV of a four-year or eight-year driver’s license. They also approved the option of having a digital driver's license. State Sen. Andrew Chesney, R-Freeport, who supported Senate Bill 275, said the eight-year license is double the cost, but the time savings and convenience will be attractive to many motorists. 'Powerhouse philanthropic couple': Elderly couple who died in flash flooding mourned by Alton community
JERSEY COUNTY, Ill. — The names of the Alton, Illinois, couple who died during Tuesday's flash flooding were recently released by the local St. Mary's Catholic Church. Terry and Carolyn Dooley, both 88 years old, were found dead by deputies on Beltrees Road. Jersey County Sheriff Nick Manns said his office was alerted to a car in floodwaters at that location. The deputies found the body of Carolyn inside the car. Terry's body was later found along Piasa Creek, around a quarter-mile from the vehicle.
