Roseland to Impose an 'Outright' Ban on All Short-Term Rentals
ROSELAND, NJ -- Mayor James Spango said that a five-year old ordinance regulating short-term rentals in the borough will now be tightened to impose a full ban on these types of rentals in town. In 2019, the Roseland Borough Council passed an ordinance requiring a license in order to offer a short-term rental for a non-refundable fee of $500. That ordinance also required a fee of $60 in order to offer a dwelling for short-term rental a Certificate of Habitability from the Housing and Property Maintenance Department that would be good for 30 days.
