Hayes Beginning Work With Burnett On Transition
The transition process has begun to prepare Livingston Mayor-Elect Lori Elder-Burnett to take office September 1. Mayor Curtis Hayes said he and Burnett have been meeting for several hours a week since she was elected in June. He said he has been reminding Burnett that she may not get everything overnight, she has great staffers, advisors, and consultants to lean on in the meantime.
Monterey Takes Over 4th Celebration Friday
Monterey will extend the 4th of July weekend with a Friday full full of music, activities, and fireworks. Cultural Administrator Rafferty Cleary said the city’s Independence Day event will feature food vendors, plenty of crafts, contests, and bounce houses. Cleary said the main goal of the event is to bring the Monterey community through the celebration of such an important day.

New Pickleball Courts Planned For Community Center
Putnam County Parks and Recreation beginning the planning for six new pickleball courts at the Cookeville Community Center. The Association of Pickleball Professionals reports a 223 percent increase in participation over the last three years. Putnam Parks and Recreation Director Cody Maynard said that increase being seen in resident requests.
