    2 juveniles in custody in connection with Clinton robberies

    Clinton police have made two arrests in connection with a series of recent burglaries at local businesses, according to a news release from the Clinton Police Department.

    Early Friday, officers found a boy who had previously been reported as a runaway by his parent/guardian. The boy was taken to the Clinton Police Department, where he was interviewed with a parent present. Investigators reviewed physical evidence, security footage and tips from the public. As a result, the boy was taken into custody on these charges and events:

    • Criminal Mischief – 2nd Degree: for an incident on August 13 at Spring Green in Clinton.

    • Burglary – 3rd Degree (Vehicle): for an incident on August 13 at Spring Green in Clinton.

    • Burglary – 3rd Degree: for an incident on August 13 at Smokin’ Joes in Clinton.

    • Criminal Mischief – 3rd Degree: for an incident on August 13 at Pawn Central in Clinton.

    • Burglary – 3rd Degree: for an incident on August 16 at Dollar General in Clinton.

    A second boy was found and interviewed with a parent present in connection with these incidents. He was taken into custody for being part of an alleged burglary the Dollar General.

    Clinton police are continuing their investigation and believe additional charges may be brought against other juveniles involved in these incidents.
