Raleigh County Judge to retire in coming weeks

BECKLEY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – It was announced on Thursday that Raleigh County Circuit Judge, Robert Burnside will be retiring from his role at the end of the month.

The retirement of the longtime judge has been anticipated, as it was confirmed that he would not seek re-election.

Prosecuting Attorney for Raleigh County, Ben Hatfield confirmed the planned retirement date of the highly regarded judicial figure, which is expected to go into effect on May 31, 2024.

Judge Burnside’s role is expected to be filled by current House of Delegates member and Raleigh County Assistant Prosecutor , Todd Kirby, who is running unopposed for the role.
