    Fayette County man flees after being handcuffed

    FAYETTE COUNTY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – A Fayette County man flees from deputies after he was placed in handcuffs.

    On August 9, 2024, at approximately 4:55 PM, Fayette County Sheriff’s Deputies C. Cogar, T. Farley, D. Shreve, and Sgt. G. Rinehart arrived at 20 Middle Road in the North Page area of Fayette County, West Virginia to serve an arrest warrant on Darren Ray Taylor for domestic battery and a domestic violence petition.

    Upon making contact with Mr. Taylor at the rear of the residence, Deputies Cogar and Shreve placed him in handcuffs. Mr. Taylor requested to lock his home, so the deputies escorted him inside. However, once the residence was secured, Mr. Taylor fled from the deputies while still handcuffed. He was apprehended approximately 50 yards away.

    It was determined that Mr. Taylor had fled from law enforcement officers who were making a lawful arrest for domestic battery, and this incident occurred with-in Fayette County , West Virginia.
