Updated 5 p.m. June 24: Clayton Kershaw will be shut down for a week in his rehab and will not pitch in Reno on Tuesday night, according to MLB.com.

Kershaw has lingering soreness in his shoulder and will need to throw two bullpen sessions before returning to the field, according to Los Angeles Dodgers manager Dave Roberts.

    Original story

Los Angeles Dodgers pitcher Clayton Kershaw could pitch in Reno on Tuesday as he continues to rehab from left shoulder surgery.

Kershaw pitched three innings for Single-A Rancho Cucamonga on Wednesday and is now with Oklahoma City, the Dodgers' Triple-A affiliate.

However, on Saturday Kershaw reported some soreness in his shoulder and his next start could be pushed back.

Kershaw, a three-time Cy Young award winner, is not expected to return to the Dodgers until after the All-Star Game on July 16. Kershaw, 36, underwent surgery in November, his first major surgery as a professional.

In his start for the Rancho Cucamonga Quakes on Wednesday, he allowed one run and two hits, struck out five and walked one on a pitch-clock violation. He threw 37 pitches in front of a sellout crowd at LoanMart Field.

If he can start Tuesday against the Reno Aces at Greater Nevada Field (6:35 p.m.), he is expected to throw four innings.

Oklahoma City is 40-35 (through June 23) and in second place in the Pacific Coast League East. The Reno Aces are 35-40 and in fourth place in the Pacific Coast League West.
