We have heard rumors that Nichols could be heading to RMArmy with Twisted Tea/HEP Motorsports Suzuki. Per Steve Matthes of PulpMx, he could be starting as soon as Washougal in two weeks.

The 2021 250SX East Champion, Oaklahoma's Colt Nichols (Colt 45), looks to have found a new home just weeks after the official statement from him and Beta USA’s departure. The 2023 AMA 450SX Rookie of the Year was to start on a two-year contract in 2024 through 2026 on the Beta USA team and their 450 RX. Before Anaheim 1, we were informed that a shoulder injury would take him out for some rounds at the start of the series.

When he returned to racing at Birmingham and finished out the remainder of AMA Supercross, he finished 11-15th place, with Salt Lake City being his best finish at the series finale. Colt is still looking to get into the SuperMotocross World Championship and needs to compete in a couple of AMA Pro Motocross Nationals to grab enough points to get into the top 20.

In 2023 (rookie 450 season), he was on Team Honda HRC for a Supercross-only deal with a best finish of 4th in Nashville. Colt returned on a privateer effort (Rick Ware Racing/MaddParts Kawasaki) for Pro Motocross at Washougal and Ironman to stamp enough points heading into Charlotte for the first SMX Round. In the final round at the LA Coliseum, he finished an impressive 5th and 9th overall in the combined 450SMX World Championship standings.

He is 26th in combined points after Redbud, but he will have four rounds (starting at Washougal (if that is indeed the plan) to jump some riders in front to get in that top 20 or to the LCQ, depending on his comfort level and fitness.

See Colt's Instagram story of his picture with the bike.
