Proud Father LeBron James Reacts to Bronny James' Summer League Breakout from Team USA Practices

As a parent, there are few things that make you prouder than watching one of your children succeed. When they are succeeding at their passion at one of the highest levels, that is just a cherry on top.

For LeBron James, it's been a fun time watching as his eldest son, Bronny James, starts his professional career in the NBA Summer League with the Los Angeles Lakers. Of course, LeBron is across the pond with Team USA getting ready for the Summer Olympics, but he's been able to tune in and watch Bronny during the middle of the night.

“As a family, obviously we’re just proud of the fact that he’s even at this point,” LeBron said to The Athletic.

After a slow start, Bronny has started to settle in with the Lakers. He scored a career-high 12 points in a game earlier this week and improved on Thursday night with 13 points in a win over the Cleveland Cavaliers on Thursday night.

So far, the improvement is there. If you ask LeBron, he knows that the sky is the limit for his eldest son.

“I mean, he’s 19 years old, so he has so much room to grow,” LeBron said. “He has so much more to learn, but the best thing, he just keeps his head down and just stays focused."

There are potentially a couple more games on the schedule for Bronny during the Summer League tournament if teams continue to advance, but after that, he will be getting ready for his rookie season alongside his dad.

If we've learned anything from his performance so far, it's to not doubt him going forward. He appears to have the work ethic and dedication that has made his dad one of the best athletes in the history of the game.
