“This incident is being handed over to law enforcement and the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner,” Los Angeles Fire Department officials said.

Estimated disruptions to the Red Line are unknown at this time.

Metro officials released a statement on the incident saying:

“Metro expresses its sympathy for the tragic death that occurred in a cross passage between the North Hollywood and Universal City stations on the B Line this afternoon. The Los Angeles Police Department is conducting the investigation of this accident.

Metro reminds the public to never walk on train tracks and to stand behind the yellow line on all rail station platforms. Please look and listen for trains in both directions and never run to catch the train.”
