Georgia swipes a 4-star cornerback from USC

The Georgia Bulldogs are the ultimate example of "the rich keep getting richer."

After originally committing to play for the USC Trojans, 4-star cornerback Dominick Kelly flipped his commitment to play for Kirby Smart's Bulldogs. On3's Hayes Fawcett released a graphic on X to help with the announcement.

“I am committing to the program that I believe fits me best as a cornerback,” Kelly explained to On3 .

Kelly comes out of the prestigious IMG Academy in Florida. A 4-star cornerback , Kelly is listed at 6-foot-1 and 175 pounds and is a top-200 player nationally in the 2026 recruiting class. His other offers included blue-blood programs like the Michigan Wolverines, Notre Dame Fighting Irish, LSU Tigers, and Florida State Seminoles.

The Bulldogs are off to a very strong start in 2026. The future class is headlined by Nashville quarterback Jared Curtis , a 5-star recruit and the top-ranked QB nationally in the class.

It's a great win for Smart, but the Bulldogs are still locked in on the 2025 class as well. Georgia currently has the No. 4 recruiting class for next year, headlined by the top-ranked EDGE, tight end, and off-ball linebacker in the country.

These infusions of talent are exactly what Smart needs to keep contending for national titles. The Bulldogs were snubbed from the College Football Playoff this past season after losing to the Alabama Crimson Tide in the SEC Championship Game. It kept them from a three-peat after back-to-back national titles in 2021 and 2022.

It'll be a while before we see players like Kelly on the field for Georgia. However, once they're ready to play, they'll have a very real opportunity to compete for national championships and impress NFL scouts.
