    Man charged in brother's killing during domestic disturbance in central Lubbock

    A 32-year-old man is dead, allegedly killed at the hands of his 35-year-old brother who is now charged with murder following a reported domestic disturbance early Sunday at a central Lubbock home.

    Police responded about 3:07 a.m. Sunday to the 3600 block of 42nd Street following reports of a domestic disturbance, according to a statement from Lubbock police.

    Upon arrival, officers located 35-year-old Jacob Munoz with serious injuries.Through the initial course of the investigation, it appears Jacob Munoz was involved in an altercation with Jacob’s 32-year-old brother, Jeremy Munoz, which ended in Jacob being assaulted and suffering severe injuries.

    Responding officers performed life-saving measures on Jacob Munoz, who was taken by ambulance to University Medical Center, where he was later pronounced dead.

    Officers located Jeremy Munoz hiding in the area and he was taken into custody. Jeremy was ultimately placed under arrest and transported to the Lubbock County Detention Center, where he was booked on a murder charge.Other details, including what prompted the violence, were not immediately clear as the investigation is ongoing.
