There's a new voice announcing for Texas Tech football in the Jones AT&T Stadium, and you might recognize it.

On Saturday, local radio personality Casey Cowan made his debut as the new public announcer for Texas Tech football. A Littlefield native, Cowan takes over the microphone as Lubbock County Judge Curtis Parrish stepped down from the role after 24 years.

Cowan's resume is extensive, with him currently serving as cohost of Locked On Texas Tech — a daily podcast about Texas Tech Athletics — and serving as the station manager and news director for Cute Boots Broadcasting/ KLVT Radio.

Fans quickly took to social media upon hearing the West Texan's voice over the PA system at the Jones.

One social media post said, "The Jones won’t be the same without Curtis Parrish on the mic, but I do want to give a hat tip to Mr. Casey Cowan. He’s doing a swell job."

Others stated that Texas Tech Athletics did a good job in choosing Cowan to fill Parrish's shoes.
