WICHITA FALL ( KFDX/KJTL ) — Former Rider Raider Jacob Rodriguez makes his long-awaited return to Jones AT&T Stadium, but not on the side of the ball Texoma is used to seeing him.

Rodriguez switched from offense to defense in 2022 and has hit the ground running in the new position.

Last year, Rodriguez was injured in Tech’s season opener against Wyoming, which caused him to miss seven consecutive games.

When he returned to the field, he made his presence known.

Two games after getting cleared, he recorded a career-high 12 tackles and two pass breakups to secure a win over the University of Central Florida.

He credits his success to the skill surrounding him in the linebacker room.

Texas Tech returns to the field on Aug. 31 at 6:30 p.m.
