Military brings no-cost medical services to north Arkansas
Military personnel are providing no-cost medical, optometry, dental and veterinary services through July 25 at clinics in Jasper and Kingston as part of a training mission. The U.S. Department of Defense is partnering with the Northwest Arkansas Economic Development District to present Ozark Wellness Innovative Readiness Training. IRT missions, which can also focus on things like civil engineering, cybersecurity and transportation, provide training opportunities to increase soldiers’ deployment readiness while providing key services to U.S. communities, according to the Department of Defense’s website.
City of Wynne announces city-wide cleanup event on August 3
WYNNE — The City of Wynne will hold a city-wide cleanup on Saturday, Aug. 3, from 8 a.m. to noon. Dumpsters will be located at the Public Works office, 1878 Highway 64 Spur; the Dixie Furniture parking lot, 1512 N. Falls Blvd.; and Fisher Plaza, 1012 S. Falls Blvd.
Wynne Water Utilities to bid first phase of wastewater treatment plant rebuild next month
WYNNE — Wynne Water Utilities is expected to bid out the first part of the wastewater treatment plant rebuild next month. Wynne Water Utilities General Manager Blake Marotti told board members last night that he recently met with the architect and crist engineers to finalize plans for the project. The office building and maintenance are being separated from the rest of the plant and will be bid first because they are not part of the technical process.
Wynne Rotary Club begins new year under president Andrea Taegtmeyer
WYNNE — The Wynne Rotary Club has begun a new fiscal year under a new president Andrea Taegtmeyer. Taegtmeyer is Vice President, Commercial Loan Officer for First Financial Bank in Wynne. She has been a member of the Wynne Rotary Club since 2021. Her service includes attending pets, bingo, the Rotary Foundation gala, and the district golf tournament. She and her husband Levi Taegtmeyer have two children, Levia and Luke.
