ALAN urges industry to participate in logistics survey
For anyone who has ever wanted to donate to a good cause, without dipping into their own funds, there is a way. The American Logistics Aid Network (ALAN) is benefitting from a collaborative survey involving Georgia College, Mississippi State University and the University of Central Arkansas have opened the 33rd Annual Study of Logistics and Transportation Trends survey .
Arkadelphia’s new band director brings 34 years of experience
Arkadelphia Public Schools announced its new director of bands, Texas native Larry Brown. The district said this week in a social media post that Brown brings 34 years of teaching experience to the position. Throughout his career he has taught both middle school and high school bands at 3C, 4A, 5A and 6A classifications, and his students have achieved recognition for excellence in the areas of marching, concert, sight-reading, jazz band, medium ensemble, color guard, winter guard and drumline at the region, state and national levels.

Arkansas Children’s Hospital receives $1 million for expansion project
Arkansas Children’s Hospital (ACH) in Little Rock has announced a $1 million grant from the East North Street Foundation. The grant from the foundation—launched in May by local businessmen, brothers David and Doug Hendrix—will bolster ACH’s $235.2 million expansion, which includes new facilities with increased bed capacity and an ambulatory surgery center. The revitalized campus will provide clinical care that leverages a multidisciplinary approach in an accessibility-focused environment. The expansion is slated for completion in 2026.
