On Aug. 9, Lainey Wilson made a visit to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in Memphis, TN. The appearance came as she brought her “Country’s Cool Again Tour” to the nearby suburb of Southaven, MS. Wilson performed for more than 150 patients and family members, taking requests from the audience. She followed the performance with a meet-and-greet and gave each patient a custom cowboy hat.

A longtime friend and ally of AFSCME members, Rev. Lawson played a key role in the 1968 Memphis sanitation strike, leading a faith coalition in the community on behalf of the workers and persuading his friend Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. to join the struggle.
Matsuyama wins St. Jude Championship
