Dabo Swinney has not been in the good graces of Clemson football fans recently. While Clemson fans still love Swinney for what he's done as one of the best coaches in college football over the past decade, his recent inability or refusal to use the transfer portal has really rubbed people the wrong way. Toccoa Opens 12U District Tournament with Win Over Oglethorpe
The Toccoa 12U All-Stars opened the Little League district 7 tournament in Rabun County with a win today defeating Oglethorpe County 6-4. Both teams were held hitless through 3 innings, but Toccoa broke through with 4 runs on 5 hits in the top of the 4th inning to take a 4-0 lead. Oglethorpe County scored 3 runs in the bottom of the inning to cut the lead to 4-3, but Toccoa extended the lead to 6-3 in the top of the 6th inning and held on for the victory.

Clemson lands massive commitment from a Defensive Player of the Year
Clemson’s head baseball coach, Erik Bakich, continues to excel in the transfer portal. Former California Baptist infielder Josh Paino announced his commitment to the Tigers on Sunday night. Paino, who played shortstop for the Lancers as a junior last season, was named the WAC All-Defensive Player of the Year. He posted impressive stats, hitting .296 with 11 home runs and 38 RBIs and achieving an OPS of .912. In the 2023 season, Paino started 52 games and maintained a .270 batting average, hitting nine home runs and driving in 38 runs. He also contributed nine doubles and two triples, finishing with an on-base percentage of .340. His performance earned him a spot on the WAC All-Academic team, showcasing both his athletic and academic dedication. Paino is the fourth addition to Clemson’s roster from the transfer portal, joining outfielder Dominic Listi, infielder Collin Priest, and catcher Luke Gaffney.
