Global IT outage has widespread impacts on city and state agencies in the Triangle
RALEIGH, N.C. (WNCN) — City and state agencies are working to get up and running after experiencing a range of interruptions with their services due to the global IT outage. The NCDMV said all of its driver licenses offices are back open after being impacted by the outage. Most plate agencies, which are privately run and managed by the DMV will remain closed until Monday. A spokesperson said the DMV will try to contact people who had appointments this morning to reschedule.
Jasper Co. school board retains legal firm amid superintendent investigation
Jasper Co. School Board held a virtual meeting on Thursday afternoon — marking the second unexpected board meeting this week — and voted to continue legal services with the law firm Haynsworth Sinkler Boyd. This comes two days after the board voted to remove the superintendent on paid leave.
Traffic stop and the charges that followed
Late at night Tuesday in rural southern Oconee, a deputy spotted a small car turn off SC 24/the West-Oak Highway and onto SC 59 without, he says, any tag lamps illuminating the license plate. The deputy followed the car which, eventually, turned into a driveway and was met by farm gate. The result of that traffic stop produced the following charges against Hartwell, Georgia resident Chantel Grace Price. Law enforcement records show the following charges: driving under suspension; giving false information, and no tag light.
