    Mamou Police searching for 20-year-old suspect wanted for attempted murder

    MAMOU, La. ( KLFY )– The Mamou Police Department is currently trying to locate a suspect involved in a drive-by shooting that’s wanted for attempted second-degree murder.

    The drive-by shooting happened on March 20, around 10 p.m., near the 600 block of 7th street by JD Bank in Mamou. Authorities said a brown Buick, with 4 individuals in it, drove past teenagers walking home, two of which were under the age of 14. The vehicle came to a stop and 20-year-old Christopher Paul McGee, one of the occupants of the vehicle and who is believed to be the shooter, according to authorities, opened fire.

    An officer on patrol saw the shooting and was able to quickly stop the vehicle. The officer saw McGee holding what appeared to be a handgun, exit the Buick and leave the scene on foot. No one was injured in the shooting, and all of the victims found a way to take cover.

    Three out of the four occupants of were taken into custody. Tyler Vaughn Chrisp, Isaiah Tajhawn Malveaux, Michael Thompson, all 19, were charged with principle to attempted second degree murder. McGee is currently at large and evading law enforcement officials; he faces charges of attempted second-degree murder. Authorities said he is considered to be armed and dangerous.
