    Week 3 High School Football Scoreboard: Clear Fork knocks off Lexington

    MANSFIELD — And that will do it for Week 3.

    Richland County went 3-6 and still has four teams looking for their first wins of the season with league play starting next week for a majority of squads.

    Let's take a look at the Week 3 scoreboard:

    Richland County Week 3 Football Scoreboard

    Clear Fork 28, Lexington 3

    The Clear Fork Colts pulled off an inspiring 28-3 win over Lexington in Friday night to get in the win column for the first time this season.

    After Lexington got on the board with 13 second to go in the first quarter on a 43-yard field goal by Jaybyx Mack, the Colts went on to score 28 unanswered points to pull off the rivalry victory. Jay Jackson got the Colts on the board early in the second quarter when Marcus Hoeflich hit him with a 62-yard touchdown pass. Before halftime, Blake Schlosser scooped up a blocked punt and returned it 23 yards for a touchdown to make it 14-3 at the break.

    Mason Sansom added a 43-yard touchdown run, and Nick Appleman added an eight-yard run to polish off a massive victory for the Colts heading into Mid-Ohio Athletic Conference play next week.

    Hoeflich completed just two passes for 68 yards and a score while running for 21 yards on six carries. Applemen had 121 yards rushing on 23 carries, while Sansom added 60 yards on nine touches.

    Joe Caudill led Lexington with 83 yards passing on 11 of 24 attempts while also running for nine yards on 15 carries. Gage Powell had four catches for 32 yards in the game.

    Clear Fork is now 1-2 and hosts Galion in Week 4, while Lexington falls to 0-3 and hosts Akron North in a final nonconference game before OCC play begins.

    Keystone 34, Crestview 0

    The Crestview Cougars took a tough 34-0 nonconference loss to Keystone on Friday night to fall to 0-3 on the season.

    The Cougars have now scored just six points in the last two weeks combined. They will enter Firelands Conference play next week at Monroeville.

    Smithville 30, Lucas 25

    The Lucas Cubs fell to 1-2 on the season after a 30-25 loss to Smithville on Friday night.

    The Cubs will look to bounce back next week at Warrensville Heights.

    Wellington 21, Plymouth 14

    The Plymouth Big Red lost another close one for the second straight week, this time falling to Wellington 21-14 in nonconference action.

    The Big Red scored on two touchdown runs from Isaiah Miller.

    Plymouth falls to 1-2 on the season and travels to Western Reserve in Week 4.
