    Marble Falls City Council members plan to deliberate issues related to parks and recreation during their regular meeting at 6 p.m. tonight, July 16, in city hall.

    City Parks and Recreation Director Lacey Dingman is set to appear before the council as the point person for discussion of several agenda items, including:

    • A grant application of $750,000 to the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department for improvements to Westside Park near Backbone Creek, the Avenue Q and Second Street intersection;

    • An agreement between the city and the non-profit Inclusive Play ground Group to develop a playground at Westside Park;

    • Acceptance of the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department Local Parks Grant of more than $726,000 for Parkview Park near Park Ridge and Park View roads; and • The first reading of an ordinance to ban feeding wildlife within city limits, including public-owned streets and sidewalks.

    During a special meeting earlier this month, the council proclaimed July is Parks and Recreation Month. (See The Highlander, July 12, 2024).

    Also during the meeting, Deputy City Manager Caleb Kraenzel is scheduled to call for a public hearing related to one petition to dissolve the original Thousand Oaks Public Improvement District.

    Director of Development Services Kim Foutz will discuss a conditional use permit to allow the addition of “quadplexes” (four apartments joined together) within the Marble Falls Original Township Downtown Residential District near the Avenue T and Seventh Street southeast corner.

    Too, council members plan to view several consent agenda items. Provided no member re- quests placing items in the regular agenda for discussion, the council plans to approve each one of the items without discussion including:

    • An agreement with Langford Community Management for administration services related to phase 2 construction of one critical facilities emergency generator, as provided by Federal Emergency Management Agency Hazard Mitigation Grant Program;

    • Approval of pro-rata reimbursement to Savannah Lewis Panther Hollow Development LLC for costs related to development of a wastewater main utility line;

    • The Burnet County Elections Administration contract for election services from August 2024 to July 2025; and

    • Termination of city agreements with Harvard Instruments, Marble Falls Partners LP, Marble Falls 300 LP, Paul E. King Jr., Barbara J. King, MMK Ventures LLC, 71/281 Investments LLP.
