    Thomas Sprecher of Marietta graduated from Kettering University during its 2024 commencement ceremony on June 15 at the Atwood Stadium. Sprecher earned a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering and Computer Engineering. He was honored as a summa cum laude graduate during the university’s 2024 Honors Banquet on June 14. He also received a Sobey Scholar Award and a President’s Medal at the banquet. The university named seven Sobey Scholars, an award reserved for students inducted into an academic honor society and Kettering’s Robot Society. The university awarded eight President’s Medals to students demonstrating excellence in cooperative employment, scholarship and community engagement.Lucy Damon of Marietta received a Bachelor of Science in Ocean Engineering from the University of Rhode Island in Kingston, Rhode Island during the 2024 Commencement ceremonies held May 17-19.The University of West Alabama has named the following local students to the spring 2024 President’s list: Emily Callahan of Marietta, majoring in Elementary Education; and Braxton Bullard of Powder Springs, majoring in Sport Management.Amaia Henley of Kennesaw was named to the spring 2024 Dean’s list at Muhlenberg College in Allentown, Pennsylvania.Dalton State College named the following local students to the Dean's list for spring 2024: Hailey Ingram of Acworth; Rachel Posley, Shemaiah Rucker and Jacob Zimmerman, all of Kennesaw; Pratima Sadalge of Marietta; and Liliana C.
