A Columbus woman is dead after being involved in a multi-car collision on State Route 120 Friday evening.

According to Cobb police, Charlene Lott, 43, was driving a silver 2020 Honda Accord eastbound on State Route 120 in west Marietta. At the same time, Sean Acree, 48, of Douglasville, was going westbound in a black 2021 Chevrolet Silverado.

Acree was in the left-hand turn lane preparing to turn onto Friendship Church Road near Shiloh's Herb and Garden Farm. Linda Smith, 61, of Powder Springs, was driving in the same turn lane with a juvenile passenger in a red 2023 Lexus ES, according to police.

At around 5:33 p.m., police say Lott lost control of her Honda for reasons unknown and began veering toward Acree and Smith on the opposite side of the road.

As Acree was beginning to initiate a left turn, Lott's Honda collided with Acree's Chevrolet, sending him rolling multiple times and coming to a stop partially on top of a raised concrete median.

After colliding with Acree, Lott's Honda redirected and collided with Smith's Lexus in the westbound left turn lane.

Smith was uninjured in the collision and Acree was treated at the scene with minor injuries.

Lott was transported to Kennestone Hospital where she was later pronounced dead.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Cobb Police Department at 770-499-3987.
