Undocumented Illinois residents can now get standard driver's licenses
Under provisions of a new law, undocumented residents in Illinois are now eligible to receive four-year driver’s licenses. According to HB 3882, which went into effect July 1, those residents can now receive standard licenses and identification cards instead of the previously issued Temporary Visitor’s Driver’s License.

Triad BOE approves multiple projects during monthly meeting
TROY — The Triad CUSD #2 Board of Education approved multiple improvement projects throughout the district durings its regular monthly meeting held in June. The board first approved the purchase and installation of an intercom system through Tech Electronics at $91,877 for Silver Creek Elementary School. Superintendent Jason Henderson explained that the current intercom and bell system at Silver Creek was outdated and not functioning well as he explained what the new system will allow the school to do.
10-year-old shot in St. Louis County faces ‘life-threatening’ injury
ST. LOUIS COUNTY — A Wednesday night shooting in north St. Louis County has left a 10-year-old victim facing a “life-threatening” gunshot injury, police say. At 10:24 p.m., officers from the St. Louis County Police Department’s North County Precinct responded to the 11100 block of Pritchard Drive, near Black Jack, where they found the child suffering from a gunshot wound. The child was taken to a local hospital.
