A police officer in West Virginia reportedly made a threat to shoot a woman during a traffic stop, proceeded to break her car window, and forcefully threw her to the ground. The entire incident was captured on video.

The dramatic encounter with law enforcement occurred on Thursday in Marion County, where Monongah Police Chief Nathan Lanham was recorded threatening to harm a woman named Beth Delloma. In the video, Lanham is seen outside the woman’s vehicle attempting to open the door, with the window appearing to be partially broken as Lanham can be heard yelling,  “You roll up that window and I swear to God I’ll f****** shoot you.”

Following that, Lanham takes out his gun and aims it at the woman, continuing to try to open the door while repeatedly instructing her to “get out of the f** car!!!” The confrontation escalates as Lanham walks away and returns with a sledgehammer, using it to shatter the glass. He opens the car door and then goes to the other side of the vehicle, where Delloma appears to have exited from the passenger side.

As the woman walks around to the back of the car, Lanham pursues her and forcefully throws her to the ground, subsequently placing handcuffs on her as she cries out for assistance.

The traffic stop was initiated because the officer stated that the woman’s car had an expired registration and no visible inspection sticker. Delloma was arrested and accused of felony fleeing in a vehicle with reckless disregard for the safety of others. She remained in custody from Thursday until Monday, when the charge was dismissed by a judge.

Community members are said to be unhappy with the way the situation unfolded and have organized a town meeting to express their concerns.
