Help History Cambridge pick its 2025 neighborhood
As part of History Cambridge’s mission to collect and share the stories of all Cantabrigians, we embarked in 2023 on a new way of engaging with the city’s history. From The Port to Porter Square, from Harvard to Strawberry Hill, Cambridge’s neighborhoods have evolved through the centuries but always have their own special stories to tell. So far we have highlighted two areas of the city in our Neighborhood History Centers, based in community centers, storefronts and public spaces around town.
2nd Annual Children’s Fishing Rodeo Held at Somerville Moose Lodge
Somerville Moose Lodge Moose Legion Committee sponsored the 2nd Annual Children’s Fishing Rodeo on Saturday, June 29th at the Moose Lodge lake. Thirteen boys and girls had lots of fun with their parents as they cast their hooks for the First Fish Caught, the Biggest Fish, the Most Fish, the Smallest Fish and the Last Fish Caught in two age groups. Medallions were awarded to the winners in each category. Gift certificates and fishing tackle were given out as “door prizes.” Children, parents, and Moose volunteers were treated to burgers, hotdogs, chips, and plenty of cold water throughout the day.

Anyone who's spent time in Boston knows it's chock-full of history. The Freedom Trail is comprised of 16 historic sites throughout the city, telling "the story of the American Revolution and beyond." Places like the MFA, ICA, and Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum foster a lifelong appreciation for art. The JFK Presidential Library and Museum pays homage to our 35th President and his life's accomplishments.

Alex Cora has managed the 2024 Boston Red Sox to 11 games over .500 at the All-Star break. Their recent tear has increased calls from fans to extend the skipper. But since the beginning of the season, Cora has been vague about his hopes for the future.
