Wisconsin Is Home To One Of The Best Ran Cities In The U.S.
Wherever you live, you hope that your city is being run the best it possibly could be by the elected officials. Unfortunately, that's not the case in many cities across the U.S., including in Wisconsin. While "running a city" can be a subjective opinion, there are objective facts to prove how great or poorly a city is being run.
Excessive rain causes power loss, parks maintenance in Lake Mills
Nearly 2000 residents were without power in Lake Mills Sunday morning. Straight-line winds recorded at 92 miles per hour knocked down trees which led to electrical pole damage. City Director of Public Works Randy Myrum said the crews have been working all week on all of the trees that were downed by the storm. UW Health adds 2 hospital additions to growing list of projects
UW Health announced upcoming additions to UW Hospital and East Madison Hospital, according to the Wisconsin State Journal. The health system already is opening a large clinic — the Eastpark Medical Center — on the east side of Madison this October, a new west side clinic, and a planned rehabilitation hospital in Fitchburg.

Mayor Rhodes-Conway Announces 5-Year+ Plan to Balance Budget, Avoid Service Cuts
Mayor Satya Rhodes-Conway outlined a strategic long-term financial blueprint that would carry the City through the next 5 years. She gave details about this approach and took questions from Alders at the Common Council’s July 16 meeting. Given the strict restrictions imposed by the State and the city’s rapid population growth, Madison’s annual budget process needs to be part of a multi-year plan that allows city leaders to make prudent financial decisions while addressing the core needs of our community.
UW Hospitals ranked No. 1 in Wisconsin by U.S. News & World Report
For the 13th consecutive year, U.S. News & World Report ranked UW Hospitals No. 1 in Wisconsin on its Best Hospitals list. The ranking evaluated almost 5,000 hospitals. In addition, UW Hospitals had seven medical and surgical specialties ranked among the best in the nation: ear, nose, and throat; gastroenterology and gastrointestinal surgery; geriatrics; obstetrics and gynecology; orthopedics; pulmonology and lung surgery; and urology. Obstetrics and gynecology was ranked among the top 10 in the nation, at No. 7. Three additional medical and surgical specialties were rated as high performing: cancer; cardiology, heart, and vascular surgery; and neurology and neurosurgery.
