    Schuepbach wins Marshall village president race

    MARSHALL -- John Schuepbach defeated Chris Campbell Tuesday, April 2, in the race for Marshall village president.

    Schuepbach, a former village president and trustee, ended up with 387 votes (51%), while Campbell, the incumbent, earned 369 votes (48%) with all precincts reporting.

    Schuepbach mentioned a desire to oversee long-term projects such as the Hwy. 19 corridor as well as short-term projects such as the Whistling Stop Campground and the Firemen's Park pavilion during his campaign

    In the race for two Marshall Village Board seats, Elesa Kinder and Julie Bowman were elected in uncontested races.

    Kinder, an incumbent candidate who has served since 2021, earned 394 votes (45%) while Bowman earned 483 votes (55%) as a newcomer following former trustee Andrea Andrews decision to decline reelection.
