Veridian’s relocated Prairie Trail branch is now open
Veridian Credit Union has relocated its Prairie Trail branch from inside Ankeny’s Prairie Trail Hy-Vee store to a newly constructed standalone branch located at 2115 S.W. State St. The new 3,400-square-foot branch, which re-opened Tuesday, offers four exterior lanes and expanded lobby and office space. “We have a long history of partnering with Hy-Vee for in-store Veridian branch locations, and we’re grateful for that partnership,” said Shelly McGill, Veridian’s central Iowa regional manager. “Shifting our Prairie Trail branch to a standalone location allows us to add drive-up access and more interior space to provide an improved member experience.” Veridian has 10 locations in the Des Moines metro area, including two located inside Hy-Vee stores in Ankeny and Des Moines.

Hope Ministries holding free ‘Meet the Mission’ event this Saturday
Hope Ministries will host a “Meet the Mission” event Saturday from 10 a.m. to noon at its location at 1310 Sixth Avenue in Des Moines. Attendees will tour the homeless shelter and assemble hygiene kits. Donations of meat for Hope’s community meal program are welcome, a news release said. Des Moines man charged with attempted murder for stabbing at Clive hotel
CLIVE, Iowa — One man is in custody and another was hospitalized after a stabbing at a Clive motel. Police say an argument between two males started around 3:30 a.m. Friday near the Days Inn just off Interstate 35/80. The suspect pulled a knife and stabbed the victim, according to police.
