(FOX40.COM) — A portion of State Route 70 through downtown Marysville will reopen soon after barriers are installed along the roadway near the fire-damaged Hotel Marysville, according to Caltrans District 3.

The several thousand-pound barriers that stand around 10 feet high will be installed to allow the southbound lanes of SR-70 to reopen while the future of the former hotel is determined.

Caltrans closing ramp near downtown Sacramento for one week. Here’s why

SR-70 in downtown Marysville was closed in mid-June after a fire ragged through the Hotel Marysville causing serious structural concerns.

The road has been closed from 3rd Street to 6th Street in both directions as Caltrans had concerns about the multi-story building collapsing onto the roadway.

There is currently no estimated time for when the northbound lanes of SR-70 will reopen in the closure area.
