Westborough police: Woman hospitalized after her wheelchair is struck by SUV
WESTBOROUGH — A local woman was hospitalized on Friday after she was struck by a SUV while crossing Lyman Street in her wheelchair, police said. The 58-year-old woman, who has not been identified, was transported to an area hospital with serious head injuries after the 12:45 p.m. incident, Police Lt. Cliff Luce said.
Mass. astronaut continues orbiting space due to spaceship malfunctions
One of the NASA astronauts who’s been orbiting space for weeks due to several malfunctions on her spaceship is a Massachusetts native. Although Sunita L. Williams was born in Ohio, Williams considers Needham her hometown and graduated from the town’s high school in 1983, according to her NASA biography. In 2019, Needham renamed an elementary school after Williams to honor her aerospace career, MassLive previously reported. It was also the first time a school in Needham was named after a woman of color.
Eversource Nears Completion of Hopkinton Utility Work Despite Delays
By MyFM’s Claire Beverly – Eversource says they are rounding the corner towards the end of the work on the overhead utility line transfers on the Hopkinton Main Street Corridor Project. In the latest Project update released this week, Eversource says as long as the other utility companies get their work done in a timely and sequential order, the overhead transfers will be done by the end of September. However, they are still on hold with installing new transformers as they say supply chain issues keep them still unavailable. Earlier this week a city tree hearing gave Eversource permission to remove a maple tree near 7 East Main Street to install new overhead utility lines there.

Wellesley's Michael Li made three a magic number at the 2024 New England Junior Tennis Championships. He won the boys 14 & under division title as the No. 3 seed Tuesday at Amherst College, beating No. 1 seed Joshua Chen of Lexington in the final. Li was a finalist in 2022 in the boys 12 and under tournament. His victory earned him an automatic spot in the Level 2 Northeast Team Cup at the end of July.
