Food will be available at the various sites across Jamestown and surrounding communities Mondays through Fridays as of Monday, July 1. Parents/Guardians and/or children can arrive to pick up a fully prepared, balanced meal. City DPW Announces Changes in Rubbish Collection Schedule for July 4th Holiday
The City of Dunkirk DPW's rubbish pickup schedule will be different this week due to the July 4th holiday. Rubbish in the Thursday collection zone (District A) will be picked up on Friday, while rubbish in the Friday collection zone (District D) will be picked up on Saturday. You may refer to the 2024 Curbside Collection Schedule for further information. Copies of the Curbside Collection Schedule are still available in the City Clerk's Office, City Treasurer's Office and Public Works Department, as well as the city's website. City Hall will be closed on Thursday, July 4th.
Kingston opts into "good cause" eviction, passes ceasefire resolution in tense council session
New York’s “good cause” eviction law, passed in the latest state budget, allows upstate communities to opt in to restrictions on landlords, preventing them from evicting certain tenants without legitimate cause and from and from making predatory rent hikes. Albany was the first city to opt in in June. The Kingston Common Council opted in with a unanimous 9-0 vote, following a tense public comment period that stretched over three hours.
