Publix: 2 New Stores Coming To Georgia, Where and When

The Publix supermarket chain operates over 1375 stores in 8 southern states. The vast majority of these markets are located in Florida (876). This is not surprising considering that the company was founded in Winter Haven in 1930 and maintains its headquarters in the state.

The company is also expanding beyond the Sunshine State. One area of focus recently has been Georgia. As previously announced, a new store will be opening in Villa Rica on May 22nd. The opening of another store in the Peach State has been announced; it will be at 2775 N Colombia St, Milledgeville. The grand opening for this 48K+ sq. ft. location is scheduled for June 28th. Georgia has the second most locations of any state (212).

According to the company website, Publix is the largest employee-owned company in the US.
