City of Hewitt adds lightning alert sirens to local parks
HEWITT, Texas (KWTX) - Hewitt installed lightning warning sirens at two local parks that verbally warn people when lightning strikes within 10 miles of the city. The sirens were installed at Hewitt and Warren parks over the past couple of months. They are attached to light posts and equipped with a solar panel.

According to officials, while repairing the damage, crews encountered an issue with finding locally the correct parts needed for repairs. The specific pipe needed for the repair is not a common type of pipe carried locally, so it has to be special-ordered.
City of Robinson increases rate for waste management services
"Everything is communication, and the fact that they have not had, zero communication, with us on this — it's a little insulting," said one Robinson resident, Ruben Padilla. Some neighbors in Robinson were surprised to hear that the city is increasing their rate for waste management — this will result in an additional $1.25 tacked on to the next bill.
