Pollock Town Board raises water, sewer rates
The Pollock Town Board approved water and sewer rate increases at its July 1 meeting. The water rate increase will take effect later this year to keep up with costs related to WEB Water increasing its rates. The board also discussed the city’s sewer rates, which have not been raised since 2020.

City receives $40K donation, concrete for new bleachers
The bleacher area at the MYO fields will be receive an update after the city received not only a $40,000 donation, but a donation of concrete to help with the project. During the city of Mobridge’s June 12 meeting, the council approved to spend an additional $13,800 to move the project forward.

Carol Crance | 1931 - 2024
Carol June Schaeffer Crance, 92, of Mobridge, SD died peacefully on Wednesday, July 10, 2024, in Mobridge Community Hospital following a stroke. A celebration of her life will take place at First Baptist Church in Mobridge at 2 PM, Saturday, July 13, 2024. Following the service, interment at Timber Lake Cemetery at 3:30 PM MT. Visitation will be at 6 PM Friday with a prayer service at 7 PM at the church.
Mobridge man sentenced for Failure to Register as a Sex Offender
U.S. District Judge Charles B. Kornmann has sentenced a Mobridge, South Dakota, man convicted of Failure to Register as a Sex Offender. Brandon James Noisy Hawk, age 42, was sentenced to 20 months in federal prison, followed by five years of supervised release, and ordered to pay a special assessment to the Federal Crime Victims Fund in the amount of $100.

DES MOINES, Iowa — Eleven South Dakotans qualified for the short go-round of the Junior High National Finals Rodeo, as reported by 605 Sports. Newell’s LuKayzee Brink had a run of 10.31 seconds in Saturday’s short go-round of the goat tying finishing fifth in the average with a three-run total of 26.63 seconds. Alpena’s Londyn Mikkelson had the ninth fastest time in the goat tying short-go with a 9.96 second run and ended up 11th in the average, 27.99 seconds.
Selby takes down Crusaders for 10-3 Teeners win
Luke Fiedler held Mobridge in check as Selby Post 100 16U defeated Mobridge Teeners 16U Crusaders 10-3 at Legion Memorial Field on Monday. Selby got to Mobridge starter Mack Saxon for five runs in the first two innings and five runs off reliever Wesley Arnott in the fourth. Mobridge responded with a three-run rally in the third inning.
