Philadelphia police name 16-year-old who was shot execution-style in Oxford Circle
Philadelphia police are searching for three gunmen after a teenager was killed execution-style on Tuesday afternoon.It happened around 4 p.m. in the 1200 block of Van Kirk Street in the city's Oxford Circle section.Officers found the 16-year-old victim, identified as Jamil Wyatt, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds while lying on the ground behind a home on the block.He was rushed to an area hospital where he later died.According to police, Wyatt was walking through a rear driveway to a store when three gunmen began chasing him while firing multiple shots.Police provide update on Oxford Circle murder on July 23, 2024.After Wyatt collapsed in the driveway, video reportedly shows at least two gunmen standing over him while shooting at him just a few feet away."So it appears to be an execution-type homicide since the shooters are seen on camera standing over the victim, and we also found multiple spent shell casings just inches away," said Chief Inspector Scott Small.Police said more than 50 gunshots were fired.The suspects were last seen fleeing in a white Nissan Sentra with light-tinted windows.Anyone with information can call or text Philadelphia police at 215-686-TIPS (8477).RELATED: Check the 6abc Neighborhood Safety Tracker

Philadelphia airport workers rally for higher wages in new contract
Philadelphia International Airport workers held a rally Tuesday as they attempt to negotiate a new contract with higher hourly wages and better benefits. Baggage handlers, security guards and more said contractors were supposed to increase their pay from $15.71 to $17.20 per hour, plus a $4.98 hourly health care supplement, on Jan. 1. That higher rate comes from the city's prevailing wage law, which is set by the federal government. Daisy Cruz, district leader for 32BJ SEIU, which represents workers, said these 1,000 workers are contracted primarily with American Airlines.

Karate-loving twins raise funds for Warminster Food Bank
Karate stars and twins Shane and Weston Fox have been practicing karate since they were 3 years old. They were inspired by their older brother who stepped on the mat before them.In order for the twins to earn their junior black belts from Action Karate Jamison, they had to participate in some kind of community service, or give back to the community in some way.They hosted a lemonade stand outside their studio and raised $800 for the Warminster Food Bank.Warminster Food Bank is the new name of an organization that has been serving the community since 1958. Historic Brick Installation Leads to Weeklong Clifford Street Closure in Philly
