Man ‘uncooperative' after being critically stabbed at the Wells Fargo Center
Police are investigating after a man was stabbed at the Wells Fargo Center over a week ago in South Philadelphia. According to the police, on Saturday, July 13, at around 10:45 p.m., police responded to a call for an assault at the Wells Fargo Center at 3601 S. Broad Street.
Pennsylvania Shakespeare Festival presents Alice Walker’s The Color Purple
Alice Walker's seminal 1982 novel, The Color Purple, has undergone numerous adaptations, beginning with the 1985 Steven Spielberg-directed film. In 2005, it became a Broadway musical backed by Oprah Winfrey; in 2015, John Doyle directed a revival; and then there was a 2023 movie musical based on the 2005 production. That adaptation is also the basis of the musical now onstage at Pennsylvania Shakespeare Festival (PSF), with a book by Marsha Norman and music and lyrics by Brenda Russell, Allee Willis, and Stephen Bray.

In 2007, Dr. Rudolph Masciantonio created a trust fund under the auspices of the Philadelphia Foundation to encourage the study of Latin and Greek among students of all ages. In mid-July of 2020, numerous nonprofits along with the officers of the Philadelphia Classical Society received very special envelopes from the Philadelphia Foundation.

Historic Brick Installation Leads to Weeklong Clifford Street Closure in Philly
The Streets Commissioner Kirstin Del Rossi revealed plans to shut down the 3000 block of Clifford Street to through-traffic starting next week.
