Kamala Harris Hits Back At Trump After His Stunning ‘Turned Black’ Attack On Her Race

Vice President and presumptive Democratic nominee Kamala Harris hit back at former President Donald Trump hours after he falsely attacked her as having “turned Black” for political purposes.

On Wednesday, Trump made what has widely been seen as a trainwreck appearance at the National Association of Black Journalists (NABJ) convention, where he participated in an abruptly-ended Q&A session with ABC News reporter Rachel Scott , Semafor political reporter Kadia Goba , and Fox News anchor Harris Faulkner .

Among other things, Trump falsely claimed Harris once identified exclusively as “Indian-Americian” until “all of a sudden she made a turn and she became a Black person.”

Trump also repeatedly attacked the “nasty” hosts and the Black journalists’ organization until his team ended the session well under the agreed-upon hourlong run time.

Hours later, the VP gave a speech at Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority Inc.’s 60th Biennial Boule, where she drew immediate laughs from the crowd when she brought up Trump’s NABJ appearance.

Harris roasted Trump over his “disrespect” and “hostility” and accused him of having an aversion to the truth:

VP KAMALA HARRIS: We all here remember what those four years were like. And today we were given yet another reminder. This afternoon–.

CROWD: (LAUGHS – MURMURS).

VP KAMALA HARRIS: Donald Trump spoke at the annual meeting of the National Association of Black Journalists. And it was the same old show. The divisiveness and the disrespect! And let me just say, the American people deserve better. The American people deserve better!

CROWD: APPLAUSE

The American people deserve a leader who tells the truth. A leader who does not respond with hostility and anger when confronted with the facts.

We deserve a leader who understands that our differences do not divide us. They are an essential source of our strength.

So I say to Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Incorporated. Ours is a fight for the future.
