MEMPHIS, Tenn. — The Peabody Hotel was rated first for the best pet-friendly hotel two years in a row, and now, the Central Station Hotel is seventh.

USA TODAY 10Best’s readers selected in an online poll which 10 hotels they believed to be the most pet-friendly. The poll ran for four weeks.

According to USA TODAY 10Best, the Peabody is famous for its mallard ducks that spend much of their day in the lobby fountain.

In addition to the resident ducks, they also welcome dogs. However, they must be leashed or in a carrier when in public areas.

The Peabody also requires guests to make advanced reservations, pet shot records, and a $100 non-refundable Pet Fee.

It was acknowledged that Memphis is a great place for families and pets.

The Central Station Memphis captures the spirit of the city which is famed for its musical contributions. It is close to where artists such as Elvis Presley, B.B. King, and Johnny Cash launched their music careers.

They also charge a $50 non-refundable fee per pet, but your pets will be welcomed with a treat bag.

With two Downtown Memphis hotels recognized as the ‘best pet-friendly hotel,’ pet owners traveling from out of town can be at ease knowing their pets will be enjoying vacation too.
