MEMPHIS, Tenn. — A man is facing attempted murder charges after police say he followed a man into a store and shot him.

On July 4 at 6:00 p.m., Memphis Police responded to a shooting at 935 S. Highland Street.

The victim told them that he was leaving the store when he saw a man named Katron Crawford passing by in a four-door black Infiniti sedan with a sunroof.

Crawford pulled into the parking lot and the victim knew there would be trouble because he and Crawford had an ongoing dispute.

The victim told officers he went back into the store to avoid trouble but kept watch out of the window for Crawford.

The victim said he couldn’t see that Crawford had circled the block and came back to the business on the southside parking lot.

The police report says that the store’s security camera shows him doing this.

Crawford and another suspect got out of the car wearing masks and walked towards the store’s front door. They opened it and allegedly started shooting at the victim, striking him five times.

Crawford was arrested on July 6 and charged with attempted first-degree murder and employing a firearm during the commission of a dangerous felony.

He is due in court on July 8.
