Memphis Grizzlies rookie Zach Edey was recently involved in a physical dispute against the Utah Jazz in the NBA Summer League. The 7-foot-4 center went to help his teammate, Jacob LaRavia, who was fouled hard by Jazz forward Brice Sensabaugh.

LaRavia hit the deck after a hard foul by Sensabaugh, and Edey made sure to send the Jazz player a message by bumping into him. Showing clear frustration, Sensabaugh turned to see who made contact with him but decided to make a "business decision," turning back after seeing the towering Edey.

NBA fans were taunting Sensabaugh, given the fact that he backed down from the Grizzlies rookie once he was nudged.

"Looked straight into Zach’s belly and decided it wasn’t time for a summer league fight," said one fan.

Fans noted the height difference between Sensabaugh and Edey, mentioning it would be an unfair fight if they had gotten into a brawl. The Jazz forward is listed at 6-foot-5, so there's nearly a foot-of-height advantage for Edey.

"Love the little bump, it says I am here, I dare you to come back," said another fan.

Edey entered the NBA as the back-to-back AP National Player of the Year. During his final season with the Purdue Boilermakers, he averaged 25.2 points and 12.2 rebounds per game.

Although he wasn't necessarily considered the enforcer with the Boilermakers, Edey was widely considered the most dominant player on both ends of the floor in the NCAA.

Edey was drafted with the No. 9 overall pick in the 2024 NBA draft. He joined a young, gritty Grizzlies squad with Ja Morant, Jaren Jackson Jr., and Desmond Bane.

The talented center played in his first game against the Jazz on Monday. While that contest has yet to conclude, Edey's next matchup should be another competitive bout.

Memphis will retake the floor on Tuesday at 7 p.m. ET against the Philadelphia 76ers in the Salt Lake City Summer League.
