MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Memphis police are looking for several suspects who broke the door and front windows of a home to steal a refrigerator, dishwasher and stove.

Neighbors say this was just the latest theft this month at the home on South Parkway near Bellevue, where windows and doors are now boarded up.

Police sent out a video clip of at least two people loading up the fridge on a trailer. Another video shows an up-close video of another suspect talking to a man in the car.

Officers say they were able to pull a fingerprint off a bathroom mirror, but it has yet to produce any suspects.

While the homeowner wasn’t home to talk about what happened at their property, several neighbors said that there has been increased activity here lately among thieves stealing items from homes.

One woman who said her lawn equipment was stolen just two weeks ago.

“With the way things are going on we are having a lot of problems with lawlessness,” said the woman, who wanted to conceal her identity after she says two lawnmowers were stolen.

She says since the items weren’t secured, police didn’t take a report.

“My son said, ‘Well I’ll just go on and get another one.’ He just chalked up for, you know, for not being more cautious,” she said.

The woman says she now plans to form a neighborhood watch group or encourage others to receive training from the Memphis Police Citizen Training Academy.

“What we can do as citizens to help try and protect our neighborhood… 05:35;02 they’re committing the crime and people are tired of it.”
