    MPD: Man shot Downtown after argument

    MEMPHIS, Tenn. — A man is in the hospital recovering after getting shot at after an argument with a group of men Sunday morning, Memphis Police say.

    At 4:20 a.m., officers responded to a shooting at S. Main St and Pontotoc Ave. When they arrived, they located 18 shell casings in the street.

    While officers were on the scene, they received a call for a shooting victim at Methodist Central.

    Officers changed locations to Methodist Central and located a victim who said that he’d been shot at the intersection of S. Main St and Pontotoc Ave.

    The victim said that he was standing in front of 299 S. Front St with a witness when he started arguing with a group of men who were occupying a newer silver two-door Infiniti.

    The victim said during the argument, three men got out of the car and started firing shots at him, with one striking him in the upper right thigh.

    The witness said that she was crossing the street to leave with the victim when the argument with the men in the car started.

    She said she saw the men getting out of the car and she started running. That’s when she heard shots being fired.

    She told officers that she didn’t remember the car’s make, model or color.

    Another witness said she was standing in front of 302 S. Mian Street when she heard the victim arguing with a suspect inside a silver two-door Infiniti. She told officers she saw three men get out of the car and start firing shots at the victim.

    She took the victim to Methodist Central.
