Fire crews responded to the 1000 block of East E.H. Crump Boulevard a little before 12:30 a.m. The blaze began at the interior top center of the sanctuary.

The Memphis Fire Department told WREG that no injuries were reported. The cause has been ruled accidental/electrical malfunction in an AC unit.

The total loss of the building was $750,000. The total of contents lost totaled $350,000.

Pastor James Moore III founded Revival Temple Ministries Church of God in Christ three years ago.

“The entire church is gone, a total loss,” Moore. “I can’t believe it. To see it go up in flames like this is kind of disheartening. My heart is shattered, but we know God is able.”

WREG learned that inside the building that burned was another congregation sharing one space. Church Without Walls Memphis, led by Pastor Kip Douglas, is also having to start all over.
