Video: Plane Plummets to Ground in Fiery Crash

A flight in Brazil went up in flames following a tragic crash on Aug. 9.

According to ABC News , a Voepass flight was headed from Cascavel to São Paulo and suddenly began plummeting in the residential area of Vinhedo outside São Paulo. The plane took off at 11:50 a.m. and was set to arrive in São Paulo at 1:40 p.m., per FlightAware .

The twin-turboprop plane had a total of 62 people on board, including 58 passengers and four crew members. Local authorities say there are no survivors, according to the BBC , and no injuries on the ground were reported.

Brazilian president Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva addressed the incident while speaking at an event on Friday. He called for a minute of silence, according to The Associated Press , and lamented the deaths of everyone onboard.
