Tosha Swearingen now serving as Rainbow Assistant Principal
MADISON – Tosha Swearingen has accepted the position of Assistant Principal at Rainbow Elementary School. In 2010, Swearingen started teaching first-graders at Columbia Elementary School. Transferring to Mill Creek Elementary School, she taught kindergartners. Next, Swearingen served as Instructional Partner. Canine officer, Bear, joins Madison Police force to detect devices, offer therapy
MADISON –Madison Police Department has welcomed its newest recruit, Bear the dog. Bear is expertly trained in locating electronics and calming victims experiencing trauma. An anonymous donation paid for Bear’s acquisition in full, along with his complete training and equipment. The donation and sponsorship of Bear was brought to Madison Police Department by the non-profit organization Operation Underground Railroad Rescue or O.U.R. Rescue. This organization supports law enforcement agencies with the fight against child exploitation and human trafficking.
Tharptown High School Rocketry Team heads to London for International Rocketry Challenge
HUNTSVILLE, Ala. — A local high school rocketry team is going to be traveling overseas to compete for an international championship. Tharptown High School Rocketry Team is composed of eight students. They traveled to Virginia in may to compete against over 900 teams in The American Rocketry Challenge. Each team has to design, build and launch their own model rocket.
