The plan to bring stadium concerts to Huntsville beginning next year
Looking down from an air-conditioned suite on a recent afternoon, it’s easy to see the potential for concerts at Wicks Family Field at Joe Davis Stadium. There’s 6,000 or so seats in this former minor league baseball stadium, where major league stars like Mark McGwire and Jose Canseco got their start, which was rebooted as an attractive minor league soccer pitch last year. That capacity expands to around 13,000 with fans on the field.

Cold front will bring scattered to numerous showers and storms this afternoon
HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WAFF) - Good Wednesday morning. Fair skies will start off the day with very warm and muggy temperatures in the middle to upper 70s. Some patchy but dense fog will be expected for the morning commute in locations that saw heavy rainfall with yesterday’s storms. Today is looking partly cloudy with some peeks of sunshine boosting temperatures quickly into the upper 80s to lower 90s, the heat index will still hover around 100 degrees before the rain arrives. A cold front is forecast to move across the Tennessee Valley later today and this will trigger scattered to widespread rain showers and storms for the afternoon and evening. Locally heavy rainfall, frequent lightning, isolated damaging wind gusts and small hail will be expected with any more organized and stronger storms developing later today.
